Since 2017, the small village of Saanen in the Bernese Oberland has been offering a public day dedicated to vintage cars and music.

Thanks to a group of volunteers motivated by the passion for beautiful cars, music, the beauty and heritage of their village and a desire to promote their region, came the idea of combining a passion that is widespread in the Confederation, the collection of Oldtimers, with an important Swiss cultural tradition: music. Thus was born the first edition of Saanen's Classic Cars and Music.

 

This year, we have decided to maintain our event despite the many cancellations, respecting the health regulations put in place for your safety. We are pleased to announce that the IVth Edition of the Classic Cars and Music of Saanen will take place on Saturday 15th August 2020 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in the heart of the village of Saanen, in a more "intimate" form.

 

Indeed, health regulations being what they are, we must adapt our event so that you can enjoy it safely. The number of vehicles on display will be reduced to 30, and the exhibition spaces will be limited to a number of people at a time, in order to respect the distances between people. You will be able to wander freely in the village and enjoy the shops, restaurants, tea-rooms, and other facilities.

The exhibition focuses, as in previous years, on vehicles from the beginning of the automobile to the end of the 60s' and will start at 10:00 am with the placement of the cars. This will allow you to hear the engines running and to realise that we didn't move these vehicles as easily as our modern cars equipped with all the current technological assistance.

All the cars on display belong to members of automobile clubs from all over Switzerland, but also to friends from the Saanenland who are enthusiastic about vintage cars and who are happy to share their love of mechanics and beautiful cars with us for a day.

 

As far as the music is concerned, we can't give you much precision at the moment. This is one of the adaptations we were talking about earlier. But know that we are doing everything we can to keep this IVth edition within the theme of "Classic Cars and Music"!

 

Our event is offered free of charge to visitors of all ages. 

Your presence on Saturday 15 August 2020 in Saanen will be the best expression of your support for Classic Cars and Music and the village of Saanen. We are counting on you, lovers of vintage vehicles and music, lovers of the Saanenland, friends of the CCAM, residents and visitors to make us forget the virus that has marked us forever.
